No 5.6% is not cause for concern. Many of us wish ours was that good! Currently, I am trying to get mine below 6%.

Default hi guys

I have had diabetes for 22 years now and have not been below 7 ever. I am thin and active but my AiCs are not going low enough. I am working on it closer than ever now. Feel healthy enough.

New doctor is helping me.

Wow my doctors would test their equipment for malfunction before believing I had a 5.6. I've been in the 8's for so long. Trying to get it down.

Default A1c 5.4

guys I think I may have an answer for you

You need to set the base target as 100, and not as 120 or whatever your doc suggested at the beginning--what ideal BG should be with food and short term insulin completed.
Note that you should do this only if you have control not to consistently enter hypoglycemia and that the standard should change in sets of 5 or 10 per 3-5 weeks so that your mind gets used to the calculation.
Also ask your doctors for the calculations on your diabetes, the 1500/450 or similar and ask how to personalize it to you, and if you do so remember the short term should be modified before sleep so that it is accurate for the next day.
hope this helps and not confuse anyone
