intro
Hi folks, I'm a type 2 diabetic and discovered it late in life, About 10 yrs ago. I'm 50 now and have had to make drastic changes.
I was a very heavy drinker , but have been dry for the last 2 months. It's surprising how my sugar levels came down as soon as I stopped drinking. My main problem now is the Neuropathy. My feet burn and are very sensitive(I jump even if a feather were to touch my feet, toes especially). I'm already on Pregeb every night. I cannot get a good night's sleep because even the sheet touching my toes while asleep, wakes me. Can anyone help me with this. I would also like to begin exercise, but cannot because of my feet. I hate going to the gym, but don't get me wrong,It's just that it's boring. I love my sports. I've played squash for my country as an under 19, and was a very good tennis player and cricketer. Of course my diabetes surfaced only when my business took precedence over sports, and I stopped burning the sugars from the alcohol. Social life and networking was the reason. Now, I'd like to get back to some activity, but my feet are not letting me. I'd be very grateful if someone could help. Thanx, Jai PS I'm on a pill called JALRA and some say that this drug is not good, and has a lot of side effects. Can someone enlighten me. Thanx. |
