Default Wish she had paid more attention

Hi my user name is chocojunky. I've always used that user name. I'm thinking it's time to get a new user name.

Anyway, it was almost a month ago my Doctor said I have type 2 diabetes. I wasn't really surprized. My Grandfather and both my parents have it. What does surprize me is how little I actually know about it. I must have been living in some sort of box. All I knew is they had meds and shots and would test their blood.

Now that I've had a very informitive class, I think I know more than my father. However, I still feel like I don't know or understand anything. Could just be I have a really bad memory. The glucose meter is my biggest source of confussion. I know it helps me to see how I did the night before. BUt I want to use it to really help me. I just don't know what I'm looking for or why I'm looking for it. I know which numbers are good and bad, but I just don't get it.

I really want to understand everything so that I'm in control and not the diabetes.
