London Newbie
Hi All,
30 years old, male, London, UK, working in online marketing. I am new to the forum, (found it via the iPhone app) which has proved so useful already. I was in shock when I was diagnosed less than a week ago and now the years when I was probably pre-diabetic make much more sense. I'm experience a weird combination of feelings, remorse for a life I don't have anymore, guilt for bringing this on myself and relief that I know I can do something to make my life better. Right now I am just trying to bring my sugar levels down from an average of 23 so I can avoid having to take I insulin, and although I am down to about 11, I never realised it could take so long. I'll find out on the 15th when I visit the hospital. Yesterday, I bought some pills from a Chinese herbalist that allegedly will bring down my sugar levels but I haven't had the courage to take something my doctor didn't prescribe. Thanks for reading - for now my family doesn't know so this had been quite cathartic. Cheers, Ahsan |
