Question Stress and Glucose

I just ate what for me is a fairly normal dinner, and when I tested 2 hours later my bg came in at a whopping 176! My post prandial umbers have not been above 136 since a week after I found out I had an issue 2 months ago!

This is a pre-planned meal where I had worked out the carbs beforehand to well within my normal tolerances, I had just come back from a good walk. I went into dinner with regular numbers.

The only difference? Shortly after dinner I fell into a huge, hi stress/high frustration situation.

Can high emotional stress cause a rise of 40+ points in glucose? It now seems to be coming down slowly. An hour later (so 3 hours post prandial) I am at 160. I have been drinking a ton of water but as I am home alone with my sleeping daughter going out for another walk is not currently an option.
