61 yrs old, type 2 diagnosis...very new
Found out yesterday I'm diabetic. Put on Glimepiride twice a day and told to lose weight.
As far as eating...I'm so confused about what to eat, how much to eat. Yes, I know lay off the sugar and limit carbs, but the amount of carbs listed on charts I have seen, seems way to high for me. In the pass, I lost a great deal of weight, but had to limit my carbs to 20-30 carbs in a day. That is far less than 40-60 carbs at a meal! Should I go down to the 20-30 carbs in a day to lose weight? I'm extremely fat at 390 pounds. I know by following that low carb diet, I will lose weight fast and after three days have no cravings. If I eat over 30 carbs in a day, I have uncontrollable cravings for more food. I'm highly addicted to carbs it seems. Help, please? |
