Default type 2 for over 20 years

Hi, have been following for a long time but didn't have the courage to post... Have been getting a lot of info and encouragement from following though.
I was diagnosed over 20 years ago and always controlled with diet and exercise, a few years ago had to go on Tradjenta, which worked great until December 2014 when I had to go into the hospital with pneumonia, the prednisone of course elevated my numbers so they started insulin, in January back in the hospital again with pneumonia for 2 weeks, 2weeks after getting out of hospital I stepped off a curb and broke both ankles. Have been on insulin since all of that. No more prednisone or antibiotics but can't get off the insulin. Hoping that I will get off eventually but have heard that trauma can people to have to stay on insulin... Need all the help I can get to figure this out.
Thank you
Sandi
