Default So crazy!

Things are just totally out of control. We started with new meds a few months ago. Glipizide, and when that didn't help much, added victoza. The numbers were not too awful bad for a few weeks, and then out of nowhere I was waking up with sugars in the high 200's. We added Metformin, but I had a reaction to it and could not take it. Now I am on insulin. 55 units Levimir at night (long acting), 5mg glipizidE (pill) and Novolog (short acting) sliding scale before breakfast, lunch and dinner. It seems like no matter what we do my sugars just keep getting higher. I think we might be getting close to a dose of the novolog that will help me as i accidentally used a few units too much earlier today, but it got my sugar lower than it's been in a month. Anybody else have trouble getting under control? I am just worried that nothing will work.
