Default Glucose Reading 376 and rising.

Hey y'all! I hope everyone is doing well. I was just diagnosed with diabetes (type 2) yesterday with my fasting blood sugar at 376. Before I went to sleep, I tested it again and it's at 420. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and it's 432. Le sigh.

How do I get it to go down? I need it to go down! I'm following pretty much the no carb thing. How fast can I expect this to go down? I'm really concerned. My father said if it is higher than 376 in the morning he is taking me to the ER. What would they even be able to go there?

Right now, I'm on fast acting insulin before meals and then I take a basal one at night.
