Hello all!
I am a 57 year old Type 2 diabetic diagnosed in 1999. Due to lack of application, by BGL has been in the high teens (mmol/l) for many years. Typically around 15-17. As a result, i have significant neuropathy with loss of feeling in both feet and it is just starting in both hands. Ive finally decided to get serious and ensure i take all medication and insulin and watch my diet (a bit at least). I take 100 units of Mixtard 30/70 in the morning and 60 units at night along with 1000mg of Metformin. At various times i have used pretty much all the tablet form medications and numerous Insulin formulations with mixed success. In the last week, my BGL has fallen from 10.2 to 7.9 to 6.6 to 6.0. This afternoon (just before lunch) it had fallen to 2.9! As i type this (just before dinner) it is sitting on 5.0. Whilst i hope i continue to fit in the 5-6 range, i am a bit concerned at the speed at which i have fallen from my long term level of 15 down to about 6. Anyone else had this sort of rapid change? |
