Hi. I'm taking metformin 500 at night and glyburide 5 at night and in the AM. My sugars are usually between 180 and 215 when I get up in the morning. I just started the glyburide. It drops my sugar so RAPIDLY that I am almost always symptomatic. This morning I took it at 8:15 with breakfast. I checked my sugar 1.5 hours after breakfast and it was 188. Within 30 to 40 minutes after that it was 83 and I was sweating, clammy, my nose was cold and I was having trouble thinking straight. I chewed one glucose tablet and I feel a bit better, but not quite "right"....I feel dull and slow. Is this the way glyburide works? We tried just 850 mg of Metformin twice and day and it was making me very sick, so the doctor changed to this. Your thoughts? I realize this is not a substitute for medical advice.
Edited to change medication name to glyburide...I was incorrect on the medication name. Thanks Chris ![]() Last edited by cjthompson1; 05-08-2013 at 06:39 PM. |
