Cortisone shot in knee raise Sugar?

Cortisone shot in knee raise Sugar?

I just recently was going in for surgery and got a Cortizone shot in my knee and my blood sugar rose over 300 could not get surgery????
was wondering if this is normal and how long will it take to Level off. My numbers are 240 180 220.
