I am extremely fearful of bs getting too low when I'm sleeping. I've had type 1 DM for 18 yrs & have had bad things happen a few times during the night. As much as you're fearful of lows you should be just as fearful of a high bs. I don't eat 2-4 hrs before bed so there aren't any carbs trying to digest during my sleep allowing a constant bs through the night. I check an hr before bed. If bs is good & i haven't eaten I go to bed. The troubles come when there's carbs digesting and too little or too much insulin. If my bs is 180 or 200 before bed I take 1 un of fast acting and I usually wake up and I'm fine.
