Proactive backup of iTouch
My husband just lost some application data (not GB) on his iPhone. We understand (?) that some application data is not updated when the unit is synched with iTunes, depending on how the application was written to function. We also see a backup option when we right click the unit on the iTunes explorer.
I'd like to avoid this predicament by really knowing how to proactively back the data up (on my own hardware, not with 2-way sync so the process applies to all similarly written apps), and have it available to restore in case of crash. Options I've considered include the right-click on the iTunes explorer, click backup (what the heck is it doing when it says its backing up during the sync?), or to purchase another piece of software like Touchcopy. Any info/suggestions are greatly appreciated! janeann |
