Default Hypoglycemic unawareness anyone?

Anyone dealing with this complication? Usually reserved for those that have diabetes for a long time, such as myself of 49yrs on insulin. I know I'm far, far from perfect with keeping level glucose levels, but I'm still old school, keep it under 200 as my high level. But keeping it at normal levels with this complication is just way too risky. I've seen my sugar drop 100 points in 15 mins. I could be at 110 as an example, eat a balanced meal, and 15 mins later, it just drops out. I've been down to the 40's and zero sign of low blood sugar levels. No shakes, no sweating, nothing. Gotten to the point I test almost every hr. Sleeping can be a crapshoot, since I sleep like a log, I've even slept thru a malfunctioning smoke detector going off 1 ft from my bedroom door, thats how dead to the world I am when I sleep. Went to bed the other night at 192, woke up 6hrs later at 61. I deal with it, but it ain't no fun
