Default Animas Ping/battery trouble

I've had my Animas Ping for 2yrs now no trouble til the last few wks. My battery life has gone from about 8wks or more to 2.5 wks. Last batt change was October 17th and it's now November 2.
Anyone else having this trouble???

First of all, it would probably help if you listed the Model Number.

I did a Google Search on "animas ping battery problems" and found several links to information.

It appears that with the RF feature turned on, on some models, the battery life is rather low.

Also, there is/was a recall on certain models as listed below:

Animas Corp. has issued a recall of battery caps used with its OneTouch Ping system and insulin pumps (models 2020, IR1200, and IR1250). The dysfunctional battery caps can cause a loss of power and a system reset. This could stop the flow of insulin, leading to dangerously high blood glucose levels. For more information, contact the company at 1-866-423-4087.

I hope that the information is helpful.

Make sure you use Lithium batteries. The ping takes up much more power then the regular 2020. Also if using Lithium set your pump to lith, if using a regular battery set to alk. I suggest energizer lithiums.

If you believe there to be a real problem don't hesitate to call Animas.

Make sure you change all alarms and everything else to sound from vibrate. I had the same problem until I switched the settings to sound
