Be careful with Byetta, one of the major side affects they don't tell you about is it is mood altering. It will make you very short tempered and mean. I was on it for over a year and loved that it had my sugars in check and helped my weight but the mood altering changed my mind on this med. I am now on Victoza which is similar to Byetta ut is once a day and does not have the mood altering affect.

I tried byetta and experienced a pretty extreme loss of appetite. Even after taking myself off of it for months, lots of foods still don't sound good to me. I also experienced stomach pains after taking it for a while.

Great product. Lowered readings and A1C dramatically. Losing weight slowly. Feel fine. Highly recommend it.

Victoza as an alternative
I used Byetta for 6 months but finally had to stop because of frequent nasuea. I reluctantly tried Victoza a couple of years later and it has worked well for me. It has helped me lower my A1C from 9.2 to 7.4 over a years time! I have had a couple of nausea events but no where near the Byetta and the reward has been great! An article comparing the two can be found at:
