Default Allo from Alaska!

Well I'm not really new to Glucose Buddy - but to the boards I am. I've bugged the creators a couple times about questions and they are amazing. Been a user of the program over a year now and rave about it to anyone that I know has diabetes.

I was diagnosed in 2003 from an accident and I have had my good moments and bad moments. Diabetes is a hard disorder to have without having insurance! So expensive! Luckily now I've got a new job with insurance and I'm now back on track. Last year I got my A1c down (after being bad for about 3 years) from a 10.6 to a 6.5 but then slacked off after my doc graduated. It's easy to find excuses why not to get back on meds - those pesky side effects of Metformin and knowing they last 3 months for me.

But I'm back on track!! Went to an actual specialist last month and I was put on Amaryl and my A1c was 11.4. Most of my sugars were high 100's or 200+ but were really starting to drop this past month and then I was put on Victoza this past Thursday to get them any lower and I'm loving it!!! Numbers are all low 100's if not below.

Can't wait to get my next A1c!!! I'm expecting it to be very good!!!

Great to be on here!

Welcome to the Forum!

It is always nice to have an experienced GB user around. Good luck with getting you numbers where you want them to be.

Mostly nausia - link "Side effects include upset stomach, weight gain, skin rash or itching, hypoglycemia (low blood glucose), and metallic taste in the mouth."
