I'm type 2 pre diabetic, A1c is about 6.4 (canadian scale) and the morning is around 6.4 to 7.2. It seems to be high in the morning, it may be Somogyi effect as my reading is normal during 2 to 3 am (5.6).
I don't take any medicine as I'm hoping I can deal with this by exercises and diet, my weight is normal for my height. 1/ When should I start taking medicine? my doctor has been pushing me to take medicine, at what blood sugar level will it start affecting my organs? 2/ It seems that Korean Barley tea is helping me a lot. I went to Korean restaurant couple of time, have quite a good meal with beef and everything, drank plenty of Barley Tea. Woke up in the morning with a reading of 5.9 and 5.2 this morning. Any comment? |

Most of the information that I have read, recommends that average blood sugars should not exceed 140 mg/dL. I believe that this would equate to 7.8 mmol/L, for you in Canada.
