New type 2 member.
Hi everybody,
My name is Jarrad and I'm a 39 year old male. I had a heart attack at the age of 38 and now the doctor says I have type 2 diabetes. It feels strange because I don't seem to get any of the symptoms. I take two tablets a day and this is suppose to help. Anyway enough about me, I hope to from you all sooner rather then later. |

Welcome to the Forum!
Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot, even though you are insulin dependent, the information is good for everyone. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.

I had lived with Type 2 for more than 10yrs. Taking Metformin and supporting meds the entire time. If you are overweight, you must loose it. ED resulted as a consequence. Thank modern day medicine for a solution. I say of of this to say even if controlled, there is residual damage as a result. You must control blood sugar at all cost. My answer, gastric bypass. Now I am free of all meds and diabetes. As I continue to loose weight, my ED has abated.
