Default Are UTI's common with diabetes?

My blood sugar dropped really low & they found a UTI. I have heard that if you have diabetes & get a UTI your blood sugar can drop. Anyone have this experience?

I am currently going through the same thing, and looking for information about this as well. I have never had a uti until now. At the moment they have me keeping a log of my blood sugar levels and I have to bring the log back in three weeks. Any information would be helpful.

My Doctor told me that UTIs would be more likely if I'd had high blood sugars, and that they should stop if my sugars were under control
