Default suggestion on how to eat 3000 calories a day

My doc wants me to pack on 10 lbs of muscle. The problem isn't working out but my diet since I've been diagnosed. My diet has always been high protein low carb and low fat but when I'm trying to bulk up its supposed to be high protein and high carb which I can't do as a diabetic. Anyone have any suggestions on how to maintain a diabetic diet and bulk up at the same time my goal is one lbs of muscle a week but I would settle for one lbs a month if my numbers stay the way they are.

Drs Volek and Phinney have a pair of books "The AT&T and Science of Low Carb". Find them on Amazon. 1st is on diet, 2nd is on athletic performance. Lots of tips on weight training on a ketotic diet.
