Cool Calorie Track Crashes Is at best dysfunctional!

I have downloaded Calorie Track through out the Glucose Buddy app on my iPhone 4 and my iPad 1, both have iOS 5.1.1. This app crashes and I can't follow the instructions given within Glucose Buddy for integration.

This seems to be a common problem that is not being addressed.

Dano, the senior moderator, seems to be quite a fan of glucose buddy and would love to have see his comments

I have had type 1 diabetes since 1968. I'm a retired Pediatrician. It would be nice to have some type of carb counting data base built into Glucose Buddy. The Calorie Track app is buggy and medically speaking is a piece of you know what.

I'd love to see some address how to make Calorie Track work. What a waste of cash to try and integrate this defective, handicapped, dysfunctional app.

Make the integration work!!!!!!

Bob

Default Please switch from calorie tracker to calorie counter ipad/iphone app

Subject: Please switch from calorie tracker to calorie counter ipad/iphone app
Glucose Buddy has impressed my endocrinologist's staff.
I tried using calorie tracker but it is very immature and I encounterd numerous shortcomings in just a few hours.
Instead I use calorie counter which is much more robust and has a better database. See
http://www.fatsecret.com/

It would be a boon to have it integrate with buddy to graph carbs;

however, I have cobbed a methodology:

I maintain my diet in calorie counter by entering foods and portion sizes
At some point I export a meals summary (email to myself) which gives me details: calories, fat, etc., and especially carbs per meal.
I transcribe the carbs by making entries in the foods diary log in the glucose buddy app (or online).
I only have two foods in Buddy, "carbs" and "nothing", the latter for when I skip a meal.
I enter date, time, and grams of carbs per meal.
After syncing, I can log in to the buddy website and print the logs which then show the time I took meds, carbs for meals, and BGL readings.
I especially like the graph which shows BGL versus Food.
Unfortunately it wouldn't be as interesting if my grams of carbs weren't just as high as my BGLs.

If you need a Carb/Calorie counting app try the free MyNetDiary app. It is web based as well and it works considerably better then the CalorieTrack.

Bob;

I am sorry to be so untimely with this response. I just noticed your post. CalorieTrack is a "POS", of course this is just my opinion for what it is worth.

Danny

I'm responding to both of your posts. Will certainly look into MyNetDiary app.

I'm new to the forum and am not quite sure what you ment when you used the term "POS" in regards to "Calorie Track". Tried to find the meaning as an acronym for POS. To me it means positive. Please correct me if you meant something else. Calorie Track is at best a "WIP", work in progress. i.e A "Beta" app. My opinion, for what its worth, is there should not be integration or charges for Calorie Track until the bugs are removed.

How do I get a refund? It is not the money. I just dislike being ripped off.

I think that your would probably have to file a complaint with iTunes, since they took the payment. If you find the answer to this question, please let me know. I would also like a refund, as well.

LOL Bob, I was just agreeing with you.

If you download the MyNetDiary App, make sure that you turn on carbs in the settings. Also, if you ever eat out the Restaurants App is handy to have as well, both are free by the way.

Lightbulb Carb Master fan

I started out with CarbMaster, the free version. I really like it the best of the Calorie Track or some of the others I've seen. It is carbs I seek to track most, so this is great for that. However, be aware that if you do like me and start with the free one & choose to move to the full featured one, your logs will not transfer. The foods and their nutritional values transfer ok, but not the actual data. I also found the full version to be sluggish. Both will store BP & BG, but not to the extent of Glucose Buddy, so this is my first line of defense. However, I do wish it included a better food log, something more intuitive and that will store the nutritional information or retrieve it where possible. Also, support from CarbMaster is disappointing. I did get a response, but clearly the author of that email was not an English-speaker. His instructions made no sense. When I asked again, the 2nd response was a bit clearer, but it did not help me transfer the actual data. So, unless/until someone can point me to one that serves at least this same function, I guess I'll just limp along with 2 apps, wishing I could integrate the two. (HINT, HINT!!)
