Take a look at the "Healthy Cooking and Recipes" section. I hope that you find what you need.

I love Walker diet shakes for breakfast and afternoon snacks. Just add water, ice and fruit and blend. I get mine thru Vitacost.

Eat real food, not diet anything. Eat meat, vegetables and some fruits (I'm keeping carbs under 70 during my healing phase). Avoid all processed foods. The Schwarzbein Principle is an excellent guide. A1c was 7.8 in September. I've lost 34 pounds and my BG has been going down since...fasting is in 80-90 at this point! With NO meds! Good luck!

A sugar and wheat free ( even whole wheat ) will help you with the blood sugar and the weight.
Instead of a burger with a bun ... Wrap it in lettuce! That way you can cook for hubby just make slight variations for yourself!
