overnight glucose readings
I do not understand why, quite often, my blood-sugar goes UP overnight while I'm sleeping? No, I don't wake up and have a snack.

You may have what is known as Dawn phenomenon. For some unknown reason you experience a spike around 2:00-3:00 AM. Try a high protein snack at bedtime. It helps for me.

Watch the carbs. Are you on metformin? If I watch the carbs, especially at dinner and night snacks, and take low dose, my waking BG will be below 100. Actually, I think the low carbs has more impact than metformin.
