Default Diabetes and the Heart

I'm a T2 diabetic with heart issues. My endo encourages me to make stronger efforts to lower my gls and often tweaks my medicine doses. But my primary doc maintains that low gls may adversely affect the heart and cautions against meds that result in frequent lows. The primary doc actually said that my A1C shouldn't get below 7. My online research tends to support the primary's advice. I deal with all this by staying active and exercising(am retired), avoiding alcohol and soft drinks, cutting back on salt, taking the meds, and keeping appts.
Wouldn't mind other T2s spins on this diabetic/heart connection.
