type 1
I have type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed when I was 9, now 16 it's been a constant struggle to keep my blood sugars under control. It's really hard for me right now because I'm still in High school, and I always on the go. My blood sugars are constantly high. An I know the damage it will do. I've lost alot of weight and I'm really not that fat. I could really use some advice on how everyone else controls there sugars!

Welcome to the Forum!
Read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, as they pretty much apply to all people with diabetes. Do you know how to count carbs and bolus for the carbs you have eaten? Since you are Type 1, you may recognize this method as that used by people on the "pump", but it works well for everyone that is insulin dependent.

Dano-
I do know how to do the I:C ratio it's 1:10 or I unit of insulin for every ten grams of carbs. (I hope this is what you're asking) but I hardly count carbs.. It seems like its too much of a burden. I don't know if it's because I'm a teenager, and my hormones are going crazy. Or if it's simply because I'm not too good with counting carbs. |

Since you know how to do it, just download these 2 free apps. The first is "Restaurants" and the second is "MyNetDiary" be sure to turn carbs on, in Settings, for the second one. They will help you alot, if you will only use them.
