Stevia and Agave syrup VS artificial sweeteners
Hi I am just wondering about your views on stevia and agave syrup compared to other artificial sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose??? Any and all comments welcomed

I recommend you ditch the artifical stuff and stick with the natural stuff. I use pure honey to sweeten just about everything. Not that junk off the shelf in your favorite super market, I'm talking real bee honey right out of the hive.

Me too. I bought some agave nectar for the heck of it, but I haven't taken any readings after I've used it. Not if there's anything to the claim that it metabolizes more slowly.

From what I've heard, agave is heavily processed. Organic honey in moderation is far better and better for you. Stevia is good as it does not have any calories but is difficult to put in a usable form if you have the herb. Some of the refined stevia that you can buy ranges from bad to excellent. Truvia is very good but a bit expensive. I avoid the artificials.

The agave is natural but does cause a BG increase of course. It does appear slower though. Have you tried Sucranat? It's in the organic section of your grocery store, near the organic honey usually. It too is real sugar, but minimally processed, so no rapid spike. They take sugar cane, squeeze out the liquid, then dry it into the sucranat crystals. It's used in alot of 'Clean Eating' Recipes. Tastes odd by itself, but great in teas, smoothies and baking

Stevia extract is a great alternative sweetener. It leaves no after taste that I can detect. I use it in tea, on cereal and in three different kinds of oatmeal. Everything that I have used it in or on has tasted the same as it did when sugar was used.

Stevia is the best and the liquid form has no carbs at all. Avoid ALL grains and cereal! Eat eggs instead
