Thumbs up Blood Sugar 101 website

f2r2e2d;

You are welcome. The Blood Sugar 101 website is a good read for all people with diabetes. It should be one of the first websites that a new diabetic visits, as it answers many of the initial questions related to our condition.

WOW! That site is just great, and supports my thinking all along, but I've been following the diet suggested by my Educator and she said I *MUST* have 9 carbs a day (15g serves, pretty much) ... that was ~5 years ago, and the only thing thats happened is that I've put on weight and my BGLs have got worse and more out of control.

Reading the info on that site has given me a new lease on hope. I just tested at 15.5 mm/l 2 hours after a 2carb breakfast and I am really ticked off. Wish I had read this before breakfast and not after. No matter, change is afoot. If others can drop their seemingly uncontrolled levels, so can I.

*gobsmacked* Excellent site, thanks for posting that link

This same thing happened to me! I tried the South Beach diet and lost 30+ lbs. Then the doctor sent me to a dietician, who was horrified about the diet and insisted I each a certain amount of carbs every day. I gained back every pound I lost, plus a few more. Very discouraging. I think this is when I gave up and went back to my old habits and started sliding into depression.
