Hi I am shi and I discovered this app 2day! I absolutely love it! Had gestational diabetis w/ both my girls but after the last one I became diabetic. I really hate testing my blood sugar. Am I the only one?

Hi SHI,
I have GB as well and was diagnosed at 10 wks. I hate poking myself too (4 times/day). I think having a really fine needle helps. You might want to check it out. Good luck to you! |

I agree with mrstibayan. I take a minimum of five shot per day and the finger prick to check blood sugar is the worst for me.

Many meters now allow you to test on your arm instead of your finger. I have found that doesn't hurt at all. I still usually check on my finger because I have trouble getting enough blood from my arm, even with the meter set for greater depth. If you change lancets often, that also reduces the pain a lot.

FYI, Please be advised that when you test your arm, there is +/- 15 minute lag time. You will find that testing your finger tips is more accurate. I realize that the arm hurts less and it is pretty much up to the user to decide.
