Diabetes and bipolar
Does anyone know if diabetes and bipolar affect each other?

PrincessT, I am sorry that I don't. Hopefully someone with more experience than I will chime in soon.

Well, my son is type1,22yrs old with bipolar. I would say that his symptoms or reactions for highs and lows are intensified. He struggles with anxiety so when he's super high like 300or 400 and you get that anxious feeling anyway, it's like doubled for him. He is also struggled more with maintaining his diabetes just like he struggles staying on medications for bipolar. It's making him very very sick and his A1C is over 15. It seems that he thinks that if he doesn't want to be a diabetic then he's not. And when he doesn't want to be bipolar, then he's not. I am newly diagnosed with type 2, I have PTSD Anxiety, I find the same agitation increase if my blood sugar is off what it should be. I think you have to balance the bipolar first in order to maintain the blood sugar the best. I hope that's the answer you were hoping for, if not ask again
