Thumbs up 1st Day & overwhelmed

So I had the tell-tale symptons - frequent urination, never ending thirst, tired. Went to see my primary care doctor and did the blood work. Got a call from the hospital telling me to come into te ER immediately. Long and short of it is I have Type II diabetes. It sux! That said, I'm in my 5th year of remission from Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). I beat that, but I had good people in my corner for support. There seams to be a sea of good people here for support with OUR diabetes. I've got much to learn, mostly about diet. So, onward to face this challenge.

Welcome to the Forum!

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
