Default Metformin at Night Only?

(Have Type 2): does anyone take Metformin at night only, to keep the liver from dumping sugar after midnight?

I'm type 1, .... although I'm a newly at all of this and only 2 months in from my diagnosis (which came ~15 months late (long story)) so my fasting BSL's were 17.8'ish, 8 weeks or so ago.

I'm down to 7.3 now and take metformin morning and night, specifically to help lower my livers production of sugar and help keep the F-BSL down and maintain them below 8 ........ which is obviously working.
