Default Night Time Low Blood Sugars

My son is a new T1. He has only been diagnosed a few days. He tends to drop low for his blood sugars in the middle of the night. We have lowered his nighttime insulin and he still drops(sometimes as low as 50)... Any suggestions???

The honeymoon phase can last a while. I would probably implement a small snack (~15 carbs) before bedtime. Make sure that you know and understand the Rule of 15. Many people are pron to over treat lows and this makes matters worse, in the long run, with rebounding.

Default Night Time Low Blood Sugars

How many of you get up in the middle of the night to test your childs blood sugar? If so, how often and at what times do you check? Does your child generally wake on his/her own with a low?
