Default Well, we're in it to win it, guys!

Just got diagnosed last month. Due to my background (I'm a RN), I saw what non-compliance can do.
So I decided that this is the challenge that God has set before me, so I should "embrace" it because it is now a part of my life!

Right now, I am non-insulin dependent, and just watching my diet (started at 260 lbs ) and exercise. Sound familiar??

The moderator is 100% correct in that SELF education is key! There are tons of free apps available that can help us thru this! (My Fitness Pal is a good one to help count calories/carbs.) Diabetes is 1 disease that you definitely should NOT cheat or lie to yourself about. You're only cheating and harming yourself, right?

Even though I'm a RN does NOT mean I've got my stuff together! You saw my weight??? It's so easy to be ignorant and selfish, no matter who we are. So, so glad to find this forum! I look forward to coming back and learning from y'all!

BTW, my username "Glum" is not my attitude, but is what nurses refer to when we're talking about a patient's blood sugar..."I need to check Mr. Smith's glum before his breakfast.".
