Default Insulin pumps and constant glucose monitor

Hello everyone,

I have been a type 1 diabetic for almost 30 years now. I have always done insulin shots. I'm very thin with A1C if 8. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good pump brand with glucose monitor. I never have time to eat or test so I am not sure which one to look into. I have severe hiatal hernia with esophagus problems so I don't eat much. Sometimes once a day. Most days two small meals. Thanks!

I would recommend animas pump. I have had it for several years and have never had a problem with it. Although I don't have the glucose monitor, they do have one that coincides with this pump. Hope this helped!!

Hello Jamie I've had diabetes for 33 years. I am using a minimed pump with continuous glucose monitoring. I love it this is my second pump through minimed. I've been on pump therapy for about 13 years and it makes my life so easy. The glucose monitor is awesome. It tracks highs and lows and alerts me when I am too low or too high. I have heard that minimed has a new pump that is close to a artificial pancreas that they just launched. You should check out their new one on minimed.com. Let me know if I can help or if you have any questions.

Check in to the Minimed 530G and Enlite sensors for CGMS. This pump will suspend insulin delivery for 2h if user fails to respond to low BG alarm. I am starting this one ASAP, have been on Minimed Paradigm with CGMS but too many errors and dangerously low BGs.
