If you are using IE9 you probably won't be able to change the date.

Current Problems, with the GB website, when using Internet Explorer (IE) Version 9

If you are using IE9, as your browser, you will not be able to change the calendar date. Try using another browser; Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox and Safari all work.
