HPV vaccine and type 1 diabetes
Hi, my stepdaughter was diagnosed at the end of November with type 1- she is 10 yrs old. She had the HPV vaccine at end of August and at that time there were no signs of diabetes. Her A1C was 13% in November. I have heard other mothers say there girls developed diabetes within months of receiving vaccine and just wondering if the vaccine could've triggered this-anyone else have a child diagnosed after getting this vaccine? I know it can cause other autoimmune diseases.

Most times there is a trigger for Type 1 diabetes. My son was diagnosed after a bout with strep throat and the flu. If you take a look at the "When were you diagnosed?" thread in the Type 1 Section you will see triggers ranging from sunburn through near fatal accidents.

HPV Vaccine and Diabetes Link
Hi - I have to say I am lead to believe there is a link too. My 11 year old daughter was diagnosed 10/1/13 with Type 1 diabetes and her A1C was 14% (actually it was of the chart). She had the first round of HPV on July 15, 2013 and was a normal healthy child.
