Default high fats! for the win

I'm a type 2 diabetic and started on the keto diet. After seeing my doc and telling me my A1C was 11.4. I had to do something. So, I did a little research and looked at diets that are comparable with my carb restriction and found ketogenic diet to be right for me. My blood glucose meter shows an average of 140 for the past week. After the doctor appt. my blood sugar was at 293! After just one day eating keto it fell to 187 then the following day to 150. Check it out. It might seem alittle too extreme for some people but I seem to enjoy it!

Hi. That's awesome!! I've been doing Keto for about 2 weeks. I'm still learning but I'm getting better at making it work for me by eating more whole foods verses processed foods. My BG on average is 100.2 since 2/4/16. Before Keto I had lost 20+ lbs. I'm working with my doc so we can come off Metformin and other meds.
Good luck to you!! Take care.

All well and good but the result of this diet caused an good increase in cholesterol. 45-lbs lost and A1c from 9.4 to 5.7. - and cholesterol rose.
