Default New to GB

Hi I'm new to the app so thought is introduce myself. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2011 after being very sick in ICU with septicemia as a result of kidney stones. It took me a while to get my GP to refer me to an endocrinologist. Been seeing an endo for just over a year now. I have been having trouble with my bsl control since the get go. I was started on meds which were great for a few months then the readings stated creeping back up. Meds were changed , bsl good again then after a few months again began creeping up. It's been a vicious circle. Medication changea seem to work it as a short term. I'm now on januvia 100mg morning and metformin 1g evening. Again bsl are going crazy. I experience hypo symptoms when I get down to 6.5 but then also when they pass 13.7. I've been quite unwell the last few weeks and have not been working because of it. I actually was unwell in the endos office the other day who couldn't believe how sudden it changes. One being tested for
Many other health conditions and am due to see him in 2 weeks for results. Has anyone got any ideas what's going on? I've also lost 4kg since nobbwe without trying and am feeling exhausted all the time.
Anyway that's me in a nutshell.

Welcome to the Forum!

I am sorry that you are having so much trouble with your control. I hope the you and your Endocrinologist can get it all sorted out.

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
