Hello everyone! I am a 19 year old male and I was just diagnosed with T1 about a month ago. It was really strange because I have been an athlete all my life and always remain in good shape. One of the problems I have been running into is very low sugars either in the morning or I the middle of the night. Since I am new to this I kinda freak out and end up eating waaaay too much when my sugars get low. I am 5 foot 7 and about 190 lbs. how much should I eat/drink in order to get my loos sugars to a good level? Also my dietician recommended I eat 60-75 grams of carbs per meal. That seems like a lot to me 0_0. Is that correct or should I cut back some? Any feedback would be really appreciated!

Hey I was exactly the same position as you, I'm 5 7 as well haha but I am now 20 years old in college. However in high school I always had practice at night, some times twice a day once for my high school team and once for my club soccer team. I would find that I would be fine when I tested at night low 100a but then wake up at like 2 or 3 in the morning dripping in sweat with a low blood sugar. But what I soon learned was to go to bed with my blood sugar at least in the mid to upper 100s whenever I had a lot of physical activity and that usually helped me not have night time/morning lows. I also think that it's funny that your height, weight and activity levels are exactly how I was in high school. I hope this helps!
