Recently at my docs office I saw a chart that showed the following:
For every showed for every amount over 120 by ten, 2 units of insulin would be added to my hs shot. So if my bloodsugar is 200 at hs would I bright insaying 16 units of nph would be my hs shot? |

All people with diabetes are different and you can't use a chart to calculate everyone's insulin requirements. You really should go to an endocrinologist to get your High Blood Sugar Correction Factor (CF) (ISF) and your Carb Coverage Ratio (CCR) (I:CR) calculated.
Just for the record; If my blood glucose level was at 200 mg/dl, I would take 3.2 units of NovoLog and I am very insulin resistant. Your calculations equate to five times my dosage and this would definitely not be good for me. ![]()
