I find it difficult to second guess, usually they know best, but they make mistakes like everyone else. That being said, 140-160 is not real high on a limited basis. What are your fasting blood sugars? Do a tag search for normal blood sugar. This info will help you with you decision.

Thx. My fasting is 170s it varies. I've lost 21 pounds it's being helping lower my diabetes it use to be in the 300s. That's why I don't want to do the insulin. Thanks again for your input I really appreciate.

You are welcome! If you didn't see it, you may find this link helpful.
The 21 lbs. weight loss is a great start and I am sure that you BGL (Blood Glucose Level) has shown this. It would appear that the biggest problem that you have to overcome is the fasting BGL. You could try a thirty (30') minute walk after dinner / before bedtime, I am sure that would help some. If you have to go to insulin, you will find that it is not that bad. It is more of an in-convenience that anything. Good luck, I hope that you can escape the insulin.

I don't think putting off insulin is a good idea since high gls could lead to nerve damage and severe eye and foot problems. Many T2s have tried Byetta and Victoza with varying degrees of success. Both drugs tend to suppress appetite, lower gls, and cause weight loss. Both drugs also may produce uncomfortable and maybe even unhealthy side effects. Do the online research and check the FDA reports. But you shouldn't keep delaying insulin therapy.
