Hy, I’m new here. I’m going to have my cataract surgery after two weeks from Valley laser eye centre. The cataract is in my right eye where I have almost lost vision in my left eye. I have worn glasses all my life and now I’m 56 years old. Is being diabetic or pre-diabetic going to affect the surgery? I am pre- diabetic, but my glucose level is not yet controlled. I’m having asthma too and I fear a lot to have this surgery because I can’t breathe when lying flat for the surgery due to this asthma problem. Any suggestions?

I guess you should control your blood sugar level before undergoing any surgical procedure.

Talk to the laser eye people and your diabetes Doctor first.

I would think it would be better for you and a greater success of the surgery if you had good BG levels .... If you are on FB go to the page Reversing Diabetes ... To find out how to lower those levels to normal numbers .... The information and encouragement I have found on that page has changed my life ... I have having cataract surgery done on my eyes soon myself . Check out that FB Page!
