Woke up at 243, took glip,,,waited 30 minutes, retested at 274. That seems wrong! Shouldn't it lower my sugar?

I don't think that Glipizide is raising your blood sugar. Please remember that Glipizide is used along with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes. A 243 fasting blood sugar reading is high to begin with and may have been steadily rising to the observed 274 at 30 minutes later. It appears that a thirty (30') minute walk, after dinner and before bedtime, may be in order and will help you more than you think to control the fasting reading. This is just my opinion for what it is worth.
