Default Preferred Type 2 diet?

Fasted this morning. Ate a small amount of bean soup for lunch and my BS spiked 70 points.
Any suggestions to reduce the variation in my BS readings?

If you ate the bean soup that I am thinking about, then it is very high in carbs. Learn to count carbs and keep your meal somewhere near 30 carbs per meal and that should help. I am assuming the you are type 2, if that is the case, then read the first three threads in the type 2 section, if you have not already done so.
