No, it's normal to get frustrated with the disease. I was diagnosed when I was 18, and a freshman in college. I imagine that I felt the same things that you were feeling now. It is a very busy and pivotal time in line and then another layer of stess and responsibility is thrown on top of it!
Since you are newly diagnosed, I suggest speaking to a therapist about it. I did and it helped tremendously. And realize, you're going to have bad days where you just want to throw your hands up and say "Scr*w this sh!t!!!". But, you know deep down that you can't ignore it. Allow yourself bad days. Throw a pity party. But don't allow it to last more than a day or two. it's not worth it. choose to accept it and choose to be happy. ![]() |

Hi Ive had type 1 for 30 years. I was in denial in the beginning, drinking, eating what I wanted. Ended up in ER. Not worth it. So my words of wisdom. Dont beat yourself up, we have all been there. I am now on a pump (again), talk to Medtronic rep/your doctor. Get a endro. Doc. And just ACCEPT this, turn the page. You can do this.!!!! Take care!
