Slow and steady is the best way to loose weight and keep it off. Carb counting helps with the weight loss and it helps to keep from putting it back on. Good luck.

Count carbs, watch sugar, fat , salts! I find watching carbs staying at 1200 calories a day and eating a lot of veggies and exercise works the best proteins are good if you exercise a lot!

I guess this depends on the person as Metformin (1000 X2/ day) hasn't helped me eat less at all. Wish it did.

I too have been on high doses of metformin and the only results other that it didn't work with reducing my sugar levels but made my hair fall out in chunks! I stopped and am on januvia which isn't working. I'm optimistic that I will be going back on NPH and R insulin- which was working.
