Welcome to the Forum!

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, they will help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy diet and exercise. Good luck with your control and management.

You really have to watch you car and sugar intake. My a1c was 14. So I know how you feel. I have to take 4 pills and insulin at night. So far I'm keeping it down. I just cut my portion. And really watch what I eat. Download fitness pal app on your phone. Really helps monitor you food intake

DON'T EAT: Cut out sugar, bread, most dairy, pasta.
DO EAT: 5 fruits and Veggie servings Daily. (I blend my in 8-12 oz of water + Whey protein to make a healthy). Be sure to include as many nutrient dense veggies as possible. I buy in bulk and freeze most of it.
Chicken, Salmon, grass-fed steak, pork chops. YOUR WEIGHT WILL DROP OFF VERY STEADILY; YOUR GLUCOSE LEVEL WILL DROP. YOUR ENERGY LEVEL INCREASE WILL SURPRISE YOU. YOUR MIND WILL BE MUCH CLEARER.
My glucose was 280 a year and a half ago and A1C was 11. Now my daily glucose average is 92 and A1C is 4.9. GOOD LUCK.

First don't do the carb thing use the glycemic index n load never eat anything over 50 points u can use that download the low glycemic index food and stick to that some things that say low carb and low sugar will still spike your blood sugar Cheerios is a good example it is low carbs low sugar. But about 100 on the glycemic index and spikes my by 90 points

It is scary but you can take control. Watch the carbs & sugar intake. Exercise really helps. Just a short walk can make a difference.
