So i recently found out i am diabedic, like i found out 3 days ago. My mom rushed me to the er a couple of days ago when i passed out on our couch and started shaking with my eyes rolled back. I dont remember to much, anyways i spent the next 2 days in texas children hospital being poked with way to many needles and having more than enough blood drawn :/ although ill have to deal with this everyday for like ever, im more concerned with my mother, i think shes having a harder time dealing with it, anyways i thought id introduce myself

Welcome to the Forum!

We are glad that you are here, but we wish that we could have met under different circumstances. Your mom may be having a tough time accepting your diagnosis, but since it sounds like you are adjusting well, be strong and learn well and she will learn much from you. I would advise you to read and study all that you can on this/your disease. Many of us, who have had this for years, are still learning every day. I can tell you that I think that counting carbs, and adjusting your bolus injections to this, is key to well managed T1 diabetes. I hope that your dietitian and endo has already told you this. Good luck with your control and management. If you have questions just ask.

Hi!
When I got diabetes my mom was very upset as well. However I am 14 and got type one when I was 3. Let me tell you, diabetes eventually just becomes apart of your life and it gets a lot easier. Keep your hopes up!
